Hiyori-sensei is incredibly thoughtful, goal-oriented, and the most supportive teacher I could ask for. One of my biggest difficulties with Japanese is speaking. I've always felt nervous speaking, whether it be in real life situations or with various other teachers. A goal of mine when starting lessons was to try more and I've never felt more comfortable than with Hiyori-sensei, she listens intently, corrects my mistakes, and tries her best to understand me. I've gradually felt better about my speaking ability; I feel loads more confident in my ability and happy about my growth in the half a year of lessons I've been taking! If I set a goal such as wanting to practice more speaking, listening, or reading then she curates her future lessons as such and is always available for any questions I have.

I can warmly reccommend studying Japanese with Hiyori! She is a wonderful person and I am very satisfied having her as my teacher. She makes creative lessons, covers grammar points, vocabulary, basically tailors her lessons to the students needs. If the student does not know what they need, she comes prepared with relevant topics! Hiyori creates a friendly and supporting atmosphere in all of her lessons, which helps with relaxing, embracing all the mistakes, and actually speaking japanese. She is always cheerful and kind. Even when I do not feel like having a lesson, after every lesson I am energized and happy! 🫶🏼

My Japanese was a bit of a mess when I met Hiyori先生, and within a few lessons she was able to get me onto an organized learning pathway. I went from lost in space to seeing significant improvement within couple of months. She always goes the extra mile, whether it’s making sure I understand a concept before ending a lesson or curating lessons and homework to optimize my retention of the material. She’s been there in my moments of low confidence and has even inspired me to go into teaching myself. She helped me get my Japanese and my life path back on track, which I’m am extremely grateful for.
